New PhD candidate Tawnee Hill

29 August 2018

We are delighted to welcome Tawnee Hill who joins CSECL as a PhD candidate from 3 September 2018.

Tawnee's research will examine the European private law democratic dimensions of the emerging digital platform economy. Taking an inter-disciplinary, strongly normative approach, she will also consider the legitimising potential of formulating general principles through a Habermasian-influenced legal-political theoretical lens, and the legitimacy of potential EU-level intervention to address certain democratic deficiencies. Furthermore, her work will focus on the institutional role of European, international and transnational law in the regulation of digital platforms and their resulting economies.
