Aukje van Hoek national expert EUPILLAR project
Aukje van Hoek will contribute as national expert to the EUPILLAR (European Union Private International Law: Legal Application in Reality) project‘Cross-Border Litigation in Europe: Private International Law Legislative Framework, National Courts and the Court of Justice of the European Union’.
Prof. Aukje van Hoek writes a national report for the Netherlands to a forthcoming book entitled ‘Cross-Border Litigation in Europe’ edited by Paul Beaumont, Mihail Danov, Katarina Trimmings and Burcu Yüksel and to be published by Hart Publishing in 2017. It is part of a major project entitled ‘Cross-Border Litigation in Europe: Private International Law Legislative Framework, National Courts and the Court of Justice of the European Union’, ie EUPILLAR funded by the European Union within the scope of the European Commission Civil Justice Programme.
The purpose of the national report is to identify the main problems which litigants face under the current legal and institutional framework and to indicate how cross-border litigation functions in the relevant jurisdiction in the light of the case law and legal practice on five regulations, ie Brussels I, Rome I, Rome II, Brussels IIa and Maintenance, and when possible includes statistical information.
